Our Story

In 1991, several military officers got together in Atlanta, Georgia, and discussed going into business together.  They wanted to take their military training and professionalism to share in the private sector.  The officers were all nearing retirement from the military and agreed that a security company would be their best option. The group was multicultural, consisting of two Americans and one of Jamaican descent.  They agreed that they would best serve the Atlanta community as a minority company, thus they opened Paragon Protective Security Services, Inc.  With their first client being Wildercliff H.O.A., in a wealthy subdivision in Sandy Springs, GA,  Paragon soon added Hammond Glen Seniors Living Community in Sandy Springs.  These two accounts, along with several smaller accounts in Marietta were the foundation of the company.  Paragon soon moved their headquarters from Marietta, GA to Sandy Springs to be close to their core clients.

In December 2000, owner Ken ManClair was killed in an airplane flight to Dallas, Texas along with a second business partner who was piloting the plane.  They were both fellow Marines in the reserves.  Ken's wife no longer wanted to remain in Atlanta after his death and subsequently chose to sell her portion of the business to Byle Williams, who had only been with the company 90 days at this point.  In 2004, Byle and his partners agreed to restructure and rename the business Corps Security Services Inc., in honor of Ken who served in the U.S. Marine Corps. At the same time the company was put in Byle's wife care until 2012 when it was relinquished to his daughter and now CEO Bylencia WIlliams.
